Description
3HAMS is produced by Charlie Traisman and Makena Miller. The play premiered in NYC at Triskelion Arts Brooklyn, and ran at Brooklyn Comedy Collective and Caveat NYC. Director: Billie Aken-Tyers, associate director of the hit show, Titanique (Off-Broadway, Daryl Roth Theater). 3HAMS follows Max and Ry, two friends whose bond was forged through their shared struggle with eating disorders. In the confines of their collective brain, they must confront truths of their unhealthy dynamic, and what is needed to break the cycle. In the muck of it all, the greatest insight comes from an unlikely source… a literal ham. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. The actors were great but the clowning and comedy was sparse.

3HAMS strikes a careful and entertaining balance of hilarity and poignancy thanks in large part to excellent performances from its two leads. Highly recommend seeing it before Fringe ends!

This hilarious, irreverent and absurdist approach of this show is the only way I handle our individual and collective trauma. The hams may have solved my self esteem issues, but I think I may have developed anxious attachment to the show.

Incredible look into a friendship and how trauma can bring you closer to someone, but not always in the healthiest of ways. They transformed the theater space and brought the audience into their world and mind so effortlessly. They balance pain and humor while making you feel invested in their loving and painful friendship. The show feels deeply personal, but also something everyone can walk away feeling connected to. The acting is excellent and their chemistry is obvious to see from the very beginning until the end.

A good show if you're into very expensive trauma dumps

I picked this show at random, and it's one of my favourite things I have seen this year. As an Edinburgh local, I go to a fair few shows. It's a great piece of theatre- accurately portraying how romantic and playful platonic friendships can be, but also how they can be suffocating, co-dependant and invasive. It is fun, funny and thought-provoking. I think anyone who has ever had 'girl' friends can relate to this element of the show!

3Hams genuinely surprised me. It’s disarmingly funny and catches you off guard by delivering some deeply moving moments. The team did a fantastic job balancing the laughs with heartfelt scenes, and their performances were both raw and laugh out loud funny.

Oof. Friends, this is the real deal. I came to fringe to have my perspective tweaked, my soul moved and my artist self excited. This show, one of maybe 3 thus far (out of 15 or so) did all 3 Their genius is in applying the absurd to the sincere, allowing the audience to digest the beauty. A gestalt therapy moment with a ham? I’m so in. Kudos you two. My NB kid & I enjoyed every minute.

3Hams is both touching and often hilarious. It's a brilliant debut clown hour from incredible actors Makena Miller & Charlie Traisman. Would be a shame to miss!
