General venue access

The New Town Theatre has a temporary ramp for wheelchair access via the main entrance at 96 George Street. There are 8 steps from street level if you are not using the ramp. There is flat access to the Grand Hall we have a KONE Motala 2000™ lift providing wheelchair access to the Committee Room, Lower Hall and Studio please contact [email protected] as venue caps apply to wheelchair users.

Grand Hall
Accessible entry: There is a temporary ramp over the 8 steep stone steps from street level to the venue foyer. The ramp has a small turning circle of 1m and therefore unfortunately is not suitable for an electric wheelchair user. Once inside the venue foyer, stall seating is accessible without any further assistance. Staff are happy to assist where possible and are unable to assist electric wheelchair users.

Accessible entry: There are 8 steps from street level to the New Town Theatre foyer. The Committee Room is accessed by stairs leading to the first floor and has a total of 28 steps (including 2x 90 degree turns) to reach the top.
