A ridiculously surreal celebration of human existence, journeying from the womb to above and beyond. Combining clown, bouffon and absurd comedy, Yolk is the debut solo show of Gaulier-trained performer Izzy Stott, produced by Kissing Cousins and directed by Steffen Hånes. 'Capturing a playful worldliness, Stott manages to balance clever audience interaction with an earnest wondering... Certainly deserves your attention' (ScotsGay, 2017). Audience reviews 2018: 'A clever and subtle interpretation of clowning'. 'Hilarious'.

Wacky and wonderful! A beautiful celebration of life. You’ll laugh till your ovaries burst, and leave wondering if it’s acceptable for you to buy a pink lycra bodysuit.

Surreal ruminations on life and the relationships we build during it. Tender, funny, emotional and creative. The unpredictable, nonlinear storytelling is both exciting and insightful. A real unmissable treat. Please see this, you won’t regret it.

A really funny, beautiful and poignant show. Her physicality is great, quick improvising with the audience and a great singer too. It's as though she's lived this show, well some of it anyway...

We absolutely loved YOKE at CC Blooms - we laughed until we cried. Izzy holds the room brilliantly in her intelligent, playful and moving debut one woman show. Highly recommend!!

Whimsical, wise, funny and poignant show that definitely makes you think. Loved the ping pong balls and the simple, entertaining approach to the big questions. Izzy was a warm, delightful and reassuring performer for those of us who were nervous about audience participation. We need not have worried. Congratulations to all concerned for a great show.

Izzy is a charming performer, who captured the audience's interest right at the start and held it using sensitive audience participation throughout her show. She was funny but also able to transmit relevant messages on a number of different levels. Hardly an idiot!

Fantastic show - highly recommend

Ok, as Izzy’s mum I may be a little biased, but leaving that aside, I loved the show and can’t wait to see how it develops. Great to see Izzy using so many of her skills to create a show that will make you laugh, think and maybe even shed a tear or two. Don’t let the words “audience participation” put you off - it’s not scary because it is handled sensitively, and only adds to the fun.

I've seen Izzy perfom at the Fringe twice before. This show demonstrates her originality as a creator and range as a performer. Silly, sexy and moving, and skillfully directed by Steffen Hanes, who is also Gaulier-trained.

Strongly recommended.

Very funny and yet thought provoking! Every show will be different due to audience participation.

A wonderful, charming, hilarious show. If you like shows which are equal parts hysterical, and moving with a dash of surrealism I couldn’t recommend this highly enough.

More evidence of how valuable the free fringe is. Definitely take the opportunity to go and see it.

A playful fun and positive look at the creation of life itself through different clown versions of izzy. Thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to watch any clowning by her In future. Inspirational!
