Description

It’s the year 2030 – you now have high bandwidth secure laser communications straight to your VR headset without an Ethernet cable. Result! However, you need to keep your window blinds closed; otherwise, daylight or a passing car at night takes you straight back to 1990’s bandwidth. Should we regulate light so these exciting new technologies can be used? Or are the boffins out of control? Ask Dr Ross Donaldson (Heriot-Watt University)!

General venue access

  • Accessible entry: Inside the venue, there is a steep internal staircase consisting of 20 steps leading to the basement where The Lower Hall space are located. There is alternative wheelchair access from Rose Street North Lane. Seating is level and unfixed within these venues.

How and when to make an access booking

Our access tickets service is available to anyone who:

  • Would like to book specific accessibility services, e.g. a hearing loop, audio description headsets, captioning units, seating in relation to the location of the BSL interpreter
  • Requires extra assistance when at a venue
  • Has specific seating requirements
  • Is a wheelchair user
  • Requires a complimentary personal assistant ticket to attend a performance
