Description

Lubna explores her identity as a Scottish Pakistani muslim women living in a world dominated by fat, blonde, white men. She married a Scotsman, has two Welsh children and lives in Edinburgh. As seen on BBC TV in Still Game, Scot Squad, Two Doors Down and Comedy Underground. Feature films: Moon Dogs, and coming out later in the year, Christmas in the Highlands. Pharmacist, actress, comedian and mother, which hat fits? Will her alto ego Asian Aunty Jee make an appearance? Come and find out and hear the stories.

Softly spoken, sharply worded, and warmly charismatic, she instantly strikes up a spikey rapport with the audience. She asks us where we’re from. And jokes about the assumptions made about her heritage. She was born in Pakistan, raised in Scotland, is Glaswegian and lives in Edinburgh. In Edinburgh they want to know your class, she tells us, in Glasgow they want to know your religion.
