Description

Wet Feet tells the story of an encounter between two men in a gay sauna that lasts longer than your typical steamy dalliance. Nathan is an out and proud gay man, while Franko lives his life in the long shadow of Section 28. Throughout this poignant comedy, the towel-clad pair get to know each other a little better and a heart-warming connection is formed. Wet Feet is an Off West End award nominee for duo performance in a play.

Beautifully played by both actors with such superb writing. I enjoyed watching them play in the space. It seemed very easy for them and they clearly work well together. The hour flew past because I was so engrossed in the drama and to busy laughing at all the well structured comedy moments. Two unknown actors I would be watching out for. They are refined and classy in their delivery. One of my top picks for this years festival. I hope it makes a return.

Dare I say it was perfect. The two actors work seamlessly together on stage. To the point were I forgot I was watching actors in a play and found myself lost in the heartwarming, hilarious and raunchy world they had created. The writing is genius!!! It’s paced perfectly, is conversational and comically timed down to the button. You can tell the boys have been crafted expertly by the director who clearly understands the writer and complements him with beautiful images throughout. What I loved the most was the chemistry and relationship the two actors had, they bounced off of each other expertly and I found them so comfortable to watch together. They look great together too. Visually I mean. They are great looking boys but not supermodels and this is refreshing as we are seeing what real men look like behind closed doors. It’s not trying to be over the top or shocking. It’s real. I saw the boys outside of the show and they are just lovely. They clearly have a strong friendship or maybe relationship off stage which transcends into the show (not to undermine the work they have clearly put into their performances). The show just works, it’s this perfect pocket of theatre. If you missed it then you missed out, I hope it returns next year! It needs a more high profile venue, because it will clean up. I hope to see this on the program for 2025.

Wow! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This is one of the best plays I have ever seen. Every person I have spoken to has loved it. I spoke to the boys after the show about how it resonated with me personally and they were both very kind and humble, a perfect couple off stage too. On stage, these two boys know how to deliver. It was near perfect in its delivery. The writer said it is the very first thing they have ever written, if that’s the standard they are at now, then they are going to be people to watch out for.

When this show inevitably returns, go see it. You don’t need to be Gay, the show is not only hilarious, but it’s rooted in human struggles. It’s not flaunting in its sex, it’s not outrageously trying to be shocking with showing gay culture. At its core, it’s a show about love in its purest form. No matter where you fit as either a straight person or as someone under the LGBTQAI+ umbrella. You will love this show.

It was raw, relatable, and heartwarming. There was nothing like a boring moment; it was well-paced (it must be hard since the set was minimalist). The punchline was good. Some moments hit too close to home, and they made me teary. It was fine writing—not provoking but not dull.

This is one of the beat shows I have ever seen at Fringe. It feels heartfelt and human, detailed in a way that feels true, while also having the rhythm and quality writing of the best British comedy shows. It is clear that these performers were prepared for this stage.

The writing is precise, and the performances feel alive and connected. I've thought about this show since I saw it and I look forward to its future.

Simply incredible. Raw, poignant, and relateable. Beautifully written and stunningly performed. I hope this plays beyond the Fringe so I can recommend it and tell people I saw it before it was cool!

When I heard about a play that takes place in a gay sauna, I really wasn't expecting something so heartwarming. Everything was excellent - the writing, the acting, the humor. The standing ovation was well deserved, and I'm gutted that this is its last night at the Fringe because I've got a few friends who I know would have loved to see it.

A master class in acting. Two exceptional actors with the most electric and tantalising chemistry (you can’t fake the underlying chemistry these boys must have). I came with my partner, we both grew up under section 28 and this show was relatable without being ‘preachy’. I laughed (a lot), I cried. Stunning work from both characters. I found out from a team member that the writer was also one of the two boys. Beautifully written. Well done lads! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Night cap: Wet Feet
Tucked away in the intimate vaults of george IV bridge, this litlle GEM of a play is a lovely naration of an in-dept hook up, played by two charming and very able actors. However, the true star of the night here is the writer with its witty and uptempo creative dialogues and daily references in which the two actors can easily shine. This play has integrity without being predictable.
The sauna is a suiting setting to frame space and time, and for these characters to meet but not a depiction of true sauna culture, so its very suitable for family and friends of the LBGTQ community to come and see its not that taboo, but more endearing and relatable, and therefore worth seeing just before night falls or nightlife commences.
(maybe a tip, its not a large venue so book sooner rather than later)

What a little gem. It was the sweetest thing I've seen — and such good writing! I'm going to force everyone I know to go see it.
