Description

‘Unfortunately, I had the luck to meet Jackson Pollock’ Lee Krasner once said of her husband. Pollock remains immortalised as a genius, Krasner does not. Is genius a title reserved solely for men? Has anything changed? Wet defines what it is to be a female painter against the backdrop of the patriarchal art world. Drawing upon her personal diaries, internationally-renowned artist Concha Vidal brings Jackson Pollock’s relationship with the canvas, Lee Krasner and women at large to the stage. A scream, an exclamation mark that begins in the body. A question that demands an answer. Not a tribute.
