Description

A bin man swaps steel-toed boots for stilettos to chase his dream of becoming a drag queen. This raucous one-person comedy play combines monologue, song and (of course) drag in a love letter to hard-working Northerners and gender euphoria, based on writer Joe Leather's real-life experiences working as a Refuse Loader through lockdown. 'An irresistible, uplifting, Northern drag odyssey' ***** (ToDoList.org.uk). 'A show that you cannot help but fall in love with' **** (BroadwayWorld.com). OffFest Finalist 2023.

We both loved it. Funny, sad, thought-provoking, ultimately life-affirming, with a great solo performance.

Took my 2 daughters on a whim. Was not what we expected. Was so much more. Loved it. Laughed and actually cried. Go and see it!

Something tells me I should have queued earlier and get a better seat for this particular show, so the closer you are, the better. It was a good show though. Full of amusing quips and a little drama involving insecurities surrounding Joe. I'm not sure I loved the song like others have, but it was good overall.

Incredible performance and a captivating story. I've been wanting to see this show since the start of the Fringe and it lived up to the hype.

Highly Recommend.

We really enjoyed this piece, very funny and sweet. It reminded me of A Beautiful Thing, and the original Queer As Folk and builds up a story through disjointed snippets of the characters experiences.

Thanks X

Saw the show this evening and loved it. An absorbing story, really well written and delivered with wit and sincerity. Joe is a great performer who told his story beautifully in a well paced, well crafted show. Congratulations on a great performance.
