Description

Gabriel Garcia Marquez's darkly comic tale brought to the stage for children and adults to share. In a kitchen of a theatre, two storytellers and their audience find something remarkable – a very old man with enormous wings. Inspired by Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Un Senor Muy Viejo Con Unas Alas Enormes, this classic piece of magic realism is brought to the stage with beautiful, strange, emotional richness. 'A model of ingenuity' **** (Irish Times). 'Perfection' ***** (TheArtsReview.com). Winner of Best Design at Dublin Fringe Festival 2019. Funded by Culture Ireland.

Absolutely stunning piece of theatre/storytelling. Beautiful performances from both actors.
Took my 7 year old son this morning and we were both mesmerised. One of our highlights of the fringe.
Recommend seeing regardless of age - not just for children, far from it.

This was the first show we saw at the festival and it was stunning. I enjoyed every minute and hope I am lucky enough to see it again someday.

This show is astounding, I saw it on a whim, it is one of the best things I have seen bye a mile. It should have five stars in everything. I have been coming to the fringe for 22 years and it is one of the most intriguing shows I have seen.

I highly recommend this show, it’s like anything I’ve seen. Dark and poetic, enlightening and creative, this is one you won’t want to miss.

So exquisite in every way. Such a quirky relationship between the performers. Creative figures, soundscapes and so many feathers. Clever use of domestic level technology. Just the most messy, dreamy atmosphere. Our girls were quickly caught up in the story and we were all gripped to the very end. Lots of chat on the walk back across the Meadows. This is the very best of what we hope for in a Fringe show.

This is the show I am telling everyone to see. The images were so beautiful, they are seared in my mind. And two exquisite performers. My children were transfixed, but not more than I was. A beautiful story told with grace, purpose and care. I feel lucky to have seen it!

This production came so heavily recommended by so many people that I had to make it my first stop at the Fringe. It did not disappoint in the slightest! A deeply moving, always playful, razor sharp piece of work! The perfect start to the Fringe and a hard act to follow. Don't miss it.

It’s hard to encapsulate what makes this such a powerful and moving experience, but that’s exactly what it is – a spellbinding slice of storytelling, so brilliantly conceived and engineered that it makes the incredible seem real. You’ll believe a man can fly.
