Description

Two strangers have one hour to split £1m. Sounds easy, but what happens when one of them refuses to play fair? What is fair? Who deserves money? Why? Ultimatum is a new play by Jon Gracey that forces a conversation on class, autobiography, truth, reality TV and ethical duty to our fellow humans. Praise for previous Treehouse productions: Courtroom Play: A Courtroom Play – 'Delightfully silly' ***** (One4Review.co.uk); Bring Them Home – 'One for the bucket list' ***** (LondonTheatre1.com); Werewolf: Live – Nominated for Best Newcomer, Brighton Fringe 2017.

There is only one day left for you to catch this great bit of theatre. The two actors are brilliant as the characters who must make a life changing decision.

Great actors - both of them - and very clever, faultlessly delivered script. An intriguing moral dilemma. Well worth a watch *****

Captivating from the start. One would think it obvious what two strangers would do when presented with a huge sum of money, the only requirement being to agree on a split. Not so obvious. Intimate venue, great dialogue, two fabulous actors, and illustrative of how money can affect people. Mesmerizing!

This show is brilliant! Full of unexpected twists and turns, with a moral dilemma that takes you on a real journey in a short amount of time. Fantastic performances and great dialogue. Would 100% recommend!

A great show, amazing how strongly you feel about the characters so quickly. Gave us plenty to chew over after it was done, which shows how thought provoking it was!

Ooooooh - this play will get you thinking and have your mind doing moral flip flops. Utterly gripping, excellently written, leaving you with questions like does the concept of fair exist? Is there a ‘should’ or is there just status and who is willing to outwit who? Are we a moral species and what is more important to us when push comes to shove? It took me everything not to interject! Highly recommend

An excellent thought provoking play and you will be discussing long after you leave. In addition, because the two actors are the same gender, the play focuses on the interpersonal dynamics and avoids any non-essential gender dynamics.

The two actors are excellent. The proof is that when we spoke to them after the performance, I was shocked to discover that their real personalities were NOT what we had seen in the play.

We took a punt on this show - it was at the right time, and filled a gap in our schedule. How glad I am that we did, a really good 1 hour show. Kept us on the edge of our seats and fully entertained. A really good premise and some great acting. Take a chance - you won't regret it.

Gorgeous fast paced edge of your seat drama. Genuinely gasped and was on the edge of my seat throughout.

Must see!

An interesting idea and it held our attention for a while but I felt it ran out of steam. We wondered if it might be better with a man and a woman.

Jon Gracey’s writing is sharp and intelligent. By spending just an hour with these characters you feel as though you really know them, even when you don’t.
