Description
A hilarious and heartbreaking dark comedy driven by 20 characters and 11 original songs, in which the heroine, Luna, endeavours to disentangle herself from bad decisions and an overbearing, narcissistic mother. A compelling rollercoaster of emotions, Too Big for Her Britches will resonate with anyone who has ever felt lost, unimportant, or disregarded. A one-woman solo musical that answers the question: what happens when we stop hoping for the storybook ending by honouring our father and mother at all costs, and instead make the courageous decision to honour ourselves? Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Really outstanding show, what a talent. Moving, funny, clever, very slickly and sensitively done. One of those unexpected Fringe gems that covers big personal themes in a hugely creative way. Highly recommend.

It is impossible to not be touched by this profoundly moving musical journey of freedom from narcissistic abuse to self love and acceptance.
The score is Disney-worthy with such a strong humanistic message of survival, empathy and love with a universally positive and hopeful ending. And in this life, where relationship outcomes such as those with our parents and intimate partners are uncertain, this is more than we can hope for.
Five out of Five STARS!

Lisa’s show is a testament to tenacity meeting talent and amplifying that voice inside that surmounts all adversity because creativity really is our salvation! Lisa is a powerful performer and her songs come from a core of confidence. So inspiring and healing for all!

An amazingly energetic and emotionally sincere performance. The original music was reminiscent of the pop-rock I love from the 2000’s with catchy hooks and flawless storytelling. Lisa brought us on a candid journey with humanity and humor. Absolutely loved it!

What a wonderful life affirming show.
Can I give it six out of five stars?
Lisa invites us in to see her life, warts and all. And it’s a rollercoaster. We go into the dark, desperate crevices of shame and manipulation. Then we rise to the highs of loving ourselves. Lisa does this through great story telling, engaging characters, and songs that made me want to join her on stage.
Bravo! Such a feel good event.

Oh my goodness! This was hilarious and so creative. We loved the music and songs. We didn’t know the songs were original to the show until afterwards and that blew our minds! The artist has an incredible singing voice and we felt very moved. Having one actor play so many parts actually worked so well. We were really impressed that she could switch so convincingly between such different parts. At the funny points we felt uncomfortable and guilty for laughing but I think this was a part of the shows charm. We also felt very educated and not overwhelmed by the horror of narcissism. Luna you are so sweet and we just wanted to give you such a big hug. FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! (Yes I was shouting that! :)

Sobering and soul bearing with all original music skillfully performed, Lisa Pezik describes her journey from growing up with her mother’s narcissistic personality through healing in a bold and skillful performance. She embodies multiple characters based on her life and experience (along with a couple of fantasy ones that live in her brain).
As both a psychotherapist and singer, I especially admire her courage and truth in dealing with her life publicly through theater. Her voice is clear as a bell and the all original songs are quite lovely.
This close up and personal show could be equally liberating and healing for anyone dealing with any number of issues from family trauma to bulimia and more.
But don’t worry about being bummed out. It is also funny and the ending is momentous and uplifting.
