Description

Motian and Me is a long-planned project by Scottish jazz drummer/composer Tom Bancroft. One of his main drumming influences is the amazing American drummer Paul Motian, who sadly died in 2011. Paul was also a major role model as a drumming composer, bandleader, and all-round creative force. Tom performs a mixture of compositions by Motian and himself with bass player Brodie Jarvie and some of his favourite Scotland-based saxophonists. Expect beautiful, groovy, crazy creative tunes featuring a driving rhythm section and soaring virtuosic saxophone inspired by the unique creative musical vision of Paul Motian.
