Description

416 years ago, Macbeth was first performed. 2022 sees the definitive production by multi award-winners Thom Tuck (The Penny Dreadfuls, Thom Tuck Goes Straight to DVD, Horrible Histories) and Tim FitzHigham (Paddington 2, After Life, BBC Radio 4's The Gambler). With a script by Shakespeare (Coriolanus, Titus Andronicus, King John) and a different guest director daily. Two actors are, arguably, not enough actors. The greatest tragedy of Edinburgh 2022 – limited run, book early. Thom Tuck 'is a joy' (Scotsman). Tim FitzHigham: 'gut bustingly funny' (Scotsman). William Shakespeare: 'pretty good'.

Well worth the ticket! I have come to expect intelligent, alternative and very funny humour from Thom Tuck over the years. His association with Tim Fizthigam completes the sheer enjoyment.

The entirety of Macbeth should be impossible in an hour, but with Thom & Tim at the Helm the journey is far better than the destination.

With a guest director every night, I can imagine no two performances are the same. On the night I went to see it we had Nick Helm directing events and the chemistry between Nick and two performers led to a class act.
Thom and Tim really know this play and throw themselves head first into whatever whim the director sets them up to quite often unimaginable hilarity.

As hinted above you won't see the play, I'd be shocked if you saw one scene completely. But the magic comes from these two "working together" with the director to do as much of the play as possible given their direction. From mid-line costume changes to characters being written out of the play, literally anything could happen and makes a huge statement about the possibility of stage plays and the artistry involved.

Hugely recommend to those willing to subject themselves to the bizzare and whimsical only tangentially related to the Scottish play.
Bravo Gentlemen.

An hour of intellectual development and high brow thinking - if that is what you're looking for go elsewhere! If however you want an hour of good clean fun with two very talented actor/ comedians loosely based on the play one cannot mention this is the show for you. The whole audience has a great time - an hour of laughter........and do you know, they have a different director every night, and occasional guest appearances from members of the audience- the bloke tonight was brilliant........
