Thenjiwe – The Mandela Effect

Comedy (stand-up)

  • Babes in arms policy: Babies do not require a ticket
  • Policy applies to: Children under 2 years

Description

In her debut show, Thenjiwe, the Queen of deadpan, discusses how the world has collectively misremembered facts and events that have led to Africa being in the state that it's in. The former lawyer shares her experiences of adjusting to life in a new country and how she copes as an African mother living in the UK. Coming from a country with 11 official languages, she finds English the most confusing. How can a nation that prides itself on being one of the most powerful only speak one language?

A unique voice in stand up comedy. She's not trying to stand out - she just does stand out! Her jokes are smart and make a statement regarding themes not often explored in this way. She's really remarkable. A slow burn with incredible punches and with a glamorous aesthetic. A must see!

Thenjiwe brings a different flavour of humour to the Fringe with the Mandela Effect . You will be entertained by the stories she brings through her experiences as an immigrant in the US and UK. Funny with an insight into how a foreigner navigates herself in a different world from her own …Must see!
