Description

All Terrence wants is to earn a living as a dinosaur impersonator, have his talents appreciated by the world, land a Netflix deal, embark on a US tour, and design a line of branded merch. The world, however, has other plans for Terrence. He’s stuck in a cycle of messy break-ups, living with his parents, and being laughed at by everyone who sees his handmade (and to scale) T-Rex costume. Apropos Theatre return to the Fringe following their five-star debut. ‘The kind of show that the Fringe should be all about’ (TheEdinburghReporter.co.uk).

A really nice little show. A gentle story about two children’s entertainers, whose lives have been shaped by an obsessive interest in dinosaurs - either their’s or someone else’s.
Sarah’s part is acted very well, and Terrence seems to display more traits of Asperger syndrome as the show goes on. (Perhaps an echo of their previous show, about a boy with Autistic Spectrum disorder? Perhaps Terrence is a grown up version of James- who has swapped his obsession with the Shipping forecast to dinosaurs!)
Gently amusing, and some excellent dialogue. Worth a ticket!

'Terence the T-Rex' is the epitome of simple, but, effective! Apropos Theatre return to the Fringe after a revered run of their 2019 show '50 Words'. Not only are they back with a bang, but, writer Alex Zawalnyski is starting to show an individual style of writing. This is most effectively shown through the shows humour, light and natural, but, packed with a punch. 'Terence the T-Rex' is a show that makes the most of the fringe platform.
