Description

An abstract representation of the philosophy of Sufism in thrilling choreography. Seven professional Indian classic dancers from Delhi form intricate geometric patterns accompanied by a spectacular light show with music on the path of enlightenment, awakening, unconditional love and salvation. The dance is a stylised Kathak presentation with enchanting music specially recorded for the Fringe by Indian band Mrigya. Sufiana is influenced by great Sufi poets including Rumi, Kabeer, Bulleh Shah and Tagore. A visual treat.

It was very moving and stunning.
I would highly recommend it.
I did think that they should have come out for a second bow.

Absolutely amazing performance! Full of energy and incredible talent from these beautiful dancers who spoke to us at the end. This show is unmissable for anyone available in the afternoon at 3pm until this Sunday. The venue has such a dramatic character, and we were literally enthralled by the commentary inbetween sets. The colours and detail of the costumes are breath taking. Took us just 10 minute walk from Waverley train station. We came through for the day, and coming back on Sunday with more friends to watch it again it was sooooo good! There are so many amazing costume changes and the performance just gets more exciting every 5 minutes - def a 5 star from us!
