Description

Young socialite Catherine Holly has been left traumatised and confined to a mental hospital after witnessing the horrific murder of her cousin Sebastian during a trip to Europe. Her aunt, Violet Venable, invites a psychiatrist to question the girl about her account of the events leading up to Sebastian’s death, but the picture Catherine paints is so graphic and fantastical that Violet refuses to believe it. In one of Tennessee Williams' most haunting pieces of writing, what is the truth of the matter and how far will a mother go to preserve her son's reputation?
