Description
Stuck in Free Fall is a show about Nothing. In this genre-bending solo performance Nicola celebrates the contribution that “Nothing” – a feeling, state, need, or otherwise – has made to our individual psyches and the collective unconscious. As she guides the audience through a wild, experimental and thought-provoking collective reading of her artist book, a ritual is born. Featuring dance, poetry and love letters to the void, Stuck in Free Fall insists that Nothing – invisible, impossible, and accessed only through imagination – invites us to believe in belief and trust the unknown. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. I really enjoyed this show. There is beautiful poetry and movement, and Nicola Bullock is an engaging performer. I’m not always too sure about audience participation, but I genuinely enjoyed the audience participation in this show (both when I watched and when I participated) and I felt very safe in Nicola’s caring, capable, and confident hands. She’s an excellent facilitator and performer!

A solo performance featuring dance, poetry, music, audience participation, and visual artistry, Stuck in Free Fall asks how we can face the abyss and create meaning out of absence. The show examines this from different emotional angles - joy, melancholy, fear, hope - and leaves its audience truly transformed. A gorgeous printed and hand-painted artist’s book accompanies the performance. Highly recommended!
