Description

Stand-up comedy about getting married, being middle of the road and trying to be more honest. 'You'll struggle to find a comedian with a better jokes per minute rate... like a one-man episode of Arrested Development' (Fest). As seen in the Prime series Grave New World, you might know him from his viral twitter thread about a woman moving dirty plates onto another woman's table, his impression of Michael Caine saying 'never' in Batman or the time he phoned a number on a horse.

Saw this show on Monday. Brilliant. Clever, poignant in parts… deeply sinister in others! Well- crafted running threads weave the stories together, popping back up where they’re not always expected! Laughed my head off throughout, sometimes despite myself. Must see.

So I saw Stuart Laws today and have to say I was not disappointed, and would recommend his show 100% without a shadow of a doubt. He had the audience in stitches right from the outset, distinguishing fact from fiction was threaded throughout the show. The total oddity of some of the material left you wondering, is this for real. The Gilet was a stroke of genius. If you’re thinking .. should I … take a punt you won’t regret it.

Stuart Laws? Is That Guy Still Going? (***)
Laws is a congenial fellow with a light, clean who is rarely hilarious, but nonetheless keeps the crowd amused. While telling stories covering three topics (cheating, his vasectomy and grief), he made some quite witty tangential asides. I liked his observation about the unavoidable danger of closing one’s eyes when sneezing while driving.

This is the 15th most enjoyable of the 28 shows I have seen so far at the Fringe this year. I hope to see almost 200. You may see my other three-sentence reviews, in order from most enjoyable to worst, at my non-commercial website: https://fringefan.com/
