Description

Based on the 19th-century German play Spring Awakening; A Children’s Tragedy by Franz Wedekind, Spring explores the lives of a group of teenagers growing up in a rural Christian town in 1950s England. The moral teachings they have grown up with shape every aspect of their lives but, as they rebel against their controlling parents, struggle to understand the concept of love and break the rules at school, they begin to discover their individuality, their sexuality and, ultimately, their freedom of choice. Spring explores the effects of moral oppression on teenagers and the consequent rebellion that follows.
