Description
The award-winning, viral sensation returns with a brand-new hour following her sell-out 2022 run. As the year 2000 approached, Sooz was about to turn 15 and the PlayStation 2 was about to launch... it was a new beginning for the world. But with the Millennium Bug, was the world also about to end!? Now, almost a quarter of a century later, things feel eerily similar... New millennium, video games, Alanis Morissette... a show for anyone who remembers the year 2000 or had big dreams as a kid. 'Kempner has funny bones' **** (Scotsman). ‘Brilliant’ (LA Times). Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Very entertaining! And bonus, her boobs swayed like balloons when the door opened. Also the perfect amount of Liz Truss jokes. Would recommend

Sooz Kempner is a rising star. This is proper stand-up comedy. A well-written hour of disarming comedy that I gave four stars (****).

If you haven't seen Sooz Kempner yet, make sure you do as soon as possible. Whether you just know her from the viral videos or have seen her perform before, Y2K Woman is a treat. She just gets better and better, but still comes across as natural and spontaneous as ever.

Sooz has a marvellous way of making you feel nostalgic, even if you weren't alive when it originally happened. The most impressive use of tech I've seen - especially duetting with her "teenage" self.
Fast paced, with no padding or dead air.

Another real hit show from Sooz. She’s making a habit of it. See her now before she gets stratospherically famous.
I laughed and laughed.

This show was on the more scripted side of what we saw - but absolutely hilarious none the less, GO YAK WOMAN!

Sooz Kempner is always a highlight. As someone that grew up in the 90s myself there was a lot of wonderful nostalgic hits and loving mockery of the decades music, fashion & games. A whirlwind story of anxieties, planning your future, dealing with Doctor Who fans, finding a lovely partner, and a show stopping moment where Sooz makes her case for why she should have sung at the King's coronation.

If you like your comedy fast and furious and batshit crazy - as well as very funny - this is highly recommended. Sooz is delightful. Her stories are hilarious and the structure of the narrative and the use of projections and film works brilliantly.
