Description

Discover the sinister side of Edinburgh’s Old Town from villains to aristocracy; slums, prisons, execution sites, and the architecture of its famous sons. Learn the sobering secrets of the not-always majestic Royal Mile. Absorb the atmosphere of the Grassmarket, where public executions took place. You’ll explore Greyfriars Graveyard where JK Rowling procured names for her Harry Potter characters and meet Greyfriars Bobby who lamented his master’s death for 14 years. Dark history abounds like the infamous Mackenzie Poltergeist, Covenanters' Prison and mortsafes. We shall bring buried history back to life with our very passionate storytellers. Enjoy.
