Description

Baby Wants Candy's total 2023 sell-out hip-hop hit returns! We improvise an epic musical based on a historical figure/celebrity of your choosing (Genghis Khan, Paul Hollywood, Kim Kardashian, anyone!). Just like Hamilton but (ahem) better! Expect the same level of hip-hop, storytelling, stunning choreography and powerhouse singing, except made up on the spot. 'An absolute extravaganza, absolute pinnacle of improv. They freestyle lyrics that rival Lin-Manuel himself. Tremendously impressive, side-splittingly funny to the point oxygen becomes a luxury. Shamilton astounded me' ***** (Entertainment-Now.com). 'Brilliant' **** (Guardian). 'Cease and desist!' (Lin-Manuel Miranda).

What a great show! Insanely talented performers whose ability to create funny lyrics and scenarios on the spot is incredibly impressive. When we went (Aug 15) the shortlist was Taylor Swift and Alec Baldwin. Taylor won but Alec Baldwin got a couple of mentions too. The performers did a fabulous job of nailing Taylor Swift as well as skewering those in the audience who hadn't wanted her to be chosen. See if you can!

Possibly the best show at fringe, very funny, such a talented group and great fun, highly recommended-we had Henry VIII last night -the horse church scene had me crying with laughter

The best show at the Fringe I've seen so far! Watched it twice so far - they did Willy Wonka the first time and Ken (from Barbie) & Andrew Tate the second time. The cast is hilarious and talented, I can't believe how they're able to improvise like this on the spot every night! It's incredible.

Agree with some of the other comments - We were let in 20 mins late with no explanation or apology although it was on time yesterday.

How is this even possible?? The amount of talent here is insane.
I yelled Henry VIII and although Freddie Mercury Was picked, Henry somehow found his way in there.. I enjoyed it so much!

An absolutely brilliant show, and so good it has to be seen to be believed! Saw it for the second time in two years, and I could watch it again every night. A real ensemble effort, although Chris Grace was the stand-out performer tonight (August 6th). Witty, engaging and just plain fun to watch, thank you, Shamilton!

Despite being with agreement with other reviews with being let in late (saw on the 5th of August) the cast truly outdid themselves with fantastic vocal abilities and impressive on the spot choreography, dialogue and song this show is definitely a must see and I commend the cast for their talent especially as someone who performs too, it is very impressive. The lighting, tech and music crew were also very impressive with not only staying in sync with the cast but also displaying great talents in their areas. I recommend seeing this comedic and mind blowing show when you can!

The real sham here is the production team claiming this is an hour long show. We got let into the venue 20 minutes after the show was supposed to have started (Sun 4th August), with no explanation from the Pleasance crew members on shiftyand no apology from the cast and it still finished on time, with the cast at the start of the show stating it was about 35 minutes long.

Saw 3rd August. Started almost 30 minutes late which was annoying and disruptive when people left before the end. No explanation or apology and show only lasted about 45 mins. The improvisation was clever, and the token Brit did us proud. They all had good voices but they weren't always in tune with one another. Disappointing.

The cast proves they are fast thinkers and comedy geniuses that even non-Hamilton fans will enjoy.
