Description

Fresh from their sell-out Soho Theatre run, London’s campest musical sketch comedy threesome is here to flame on your parade! Sex Shells is an explosion of original music, surreal sketches, wayward choreography and twisted rewrites of hits from pop, Disney and the musicals. Sexy and subversive, the Shells bring their sparkling wit to some of the biggest issues of the day – served, as always, with a big bag of WTF. 'Brash, bawdy and brilliantly funny cabaret' **** (Time Out). 'Some of the most wonderfully gay things ever to grace the British stage' (VICE UK).

This show is genius. I nearly passed out with laughter. Intelligent lyrics, and fabulous song parodies superbly delivered by these three visions of beauty and glamour. Comedy that walks a line - did they just say that? Do they mean that, or are they taking the mick out of those who do? Some really challenging ideas here but not a moment where you rest from laughing out loud and sometimes gasping at its audaciousness. I didn't want it to end and I will go again before the end of the run - perhaps several times as I am sure there are some lines you need to hear twice to really appreciate.

Wandering through Teviot Place we were approached by a vision in make up, flowing hair and huge boots who proffered a flyer- would we like to see his show? So we did. It was amazing, a very funny hour packed with risqué irreverent songs about a range of topics - some versions of well known songs others new. The singing was fantastic, great voices. It was fun filled, funny and highly entertaining- where did the hour go? We left buzzing and wanting more!

The best costumes at the Fringe, glorious rewrites of songs you wish you'd been clever enough to think of, and a glittery, scantily clad man lying across your lap. What a Wednesday! Doctor LeStrange - and his insane set of pipes - Calum Mac and That Woman Rosie have found...

Sex Shells is a rampant and rambunctious hour of reverie, a camp cabaret that’s exceptionally remarkable in style. There’s a lot of cabaret offerings at the Ed Fringe, and Sex Shells offers something radically different. Dr Le Strange, Callum from Hull and That Girl Rosie glisten with all the vivacity...

The Wee Review (4/5 stars) 121 days ago

Sex Shells is camp, colourful and coming in hot. A LGBT+ show for the masses, this is a glorious and heartily funny cabaret rout through sexual misadventures, satire and politics that gets the blood pumping courtesy of some phenomenal musical talent. The show features everything from songs to dramatic storytelling...
