Description

Sense of Centre is a moving dance solo from award-winning choreographer Jack Webb. Dance, object manipulation and projection combine to explore our longing for home, need for connection and the body as a place of sanctuary from the modern world. A compelling meditation of our increasing sense of loneliness and isolation and the basic human need for a centre of gravity. In a world that is fractured and breaking apart, Sense of Centre, is a powerful return to the simplicity of nature and the importance of belonging. In association with Feral. What a beautiful show!

This was a glorious assault on the senses from all angles, with the use of sound, cinematography and close up video, as well as the visual beauty of Jack’s performance.

The choreography was superb and we came away with a renewed appreciation of what it means to be human.

Whether or not you are “into” contemporary dance, this is a forty minute treat that will contain something for everyone.

This piece will stay with us long after the Fringe is over. We’ll certainly be looking out for more from this artist in the future.

This is a man trying to find his place in the world, geographically and emotionally, and in this intimate space at least, he fosters a connection with us.
