Description
Do you believe in ghosts? Let's find out, in this recreated Victorian séance. For over 100 years, the séance has been an attempt by the living to communicate with those who have passed. Our performer denies all belief in an afterlife, but using age-old techniques, will demonstrate how mediums convince audiences of their skills, before attempting a genuine séance experiment. With live audience interaction, this promises to be a nail-biting, once-in-this-lifetime experience. Described as unsettlingly spooky and wonderfully atmospheric. For entertainment purposes only, this is not a spiritual event. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Wasn’t sure what to expect but loved this show! Sam debunks and shows you just how mediums are so
convincing. He has some wonderful tricks of his own along the way - some of which I’m still wondering how he did it. A very entertaining hour!

I really enjoyed the show but it wasn't really what it described - not a Victorian Séance. Was left with questions at the end about how things were done, which I was hoping would have been answered. Also the Fox sisters made noises by cracking their toes. It was very fun though, just not what I expected - a great showman overall.

Really enjoyed the show! Sam was a great performer and I was hanging on his every word. Despite there being some more than rowdy audience members, he kept his composure and kept the atmosphere alive. Would deffo recommend this show to fans of all things spooky and tales of the unknown!

Absolutely amazing!
It was the last show of my Fringe trip and what an ending!
I had the pleasure of catching Sam at 2 other shows earlier in the week, I was blown away both times, so ending the week with a fantastic mentalist, who not only had me laughing throughout his sets but also left me jaw dropped, was a no brainier.
The séance was informative, gripping and at points truly scary.
Things happened that were utterly unexplainable and the ending.. Well you need to experience it for yourself, definitely something to experience if you enjoy mentalism and the occult!

The show doesn't really match the description. I was expecting a re-creation of a Victorian séance, but there's no sense of it being Victorian. There's simply a lot of talking and not much action. There was a lot of squealing from certain members of the audience which I suppose some might describe as "atmosphere".

Scared, bewildered but above all blown away

The description says that it's a "recreated Victorian seance" and it is not that, but it is still worth seeing! Sam debunks the tricks of the trade of mediums and tells us about that infamous trend of talking to the dead. Like the best magicians, he tells us what's going to happen and then goes beyond our expectations when they do happen. Very clever, often astounding.

Really enjoyable show. Some absolutely wonderful tricks that I'm still scratching my head over a week after seeing them done. Great atmosphere was built up and there were many points in the show that were genuinely creepy while still allowing for a lot of jokes and levity.
