Paul wants to keep the family comic book shop open in memory of his dad who took his own life when Paul was eight, but when his big brother, Barry, decides to sell, he has to enlist the heroic Mr Ultimate to convince him otherwise. A comedy-drama looking at the long-lasting issues suicide can have on a family’s life. Saving Mr Ultimate is about our fear of letting go and how that can prevent us from becoming the superhero of our own comic books, or even our own lives...

An amazing performance from all the cast. The subject matter is covered with great sensitivity and the time passed so quickly as you get totally involved in the story. I laughed and cried and cried again. What a tremendously talented group. A must see if you are coming to the fringe. Surely an agent will snap these young actors up and we will see them on our screens in the future.

WHAT A SHOW! I am so glad I was able to come and see this fantastic performance.

A tear-jerking script which handles sensitive topics with the utmost care and professionalism. A talented cast, with a standout performance from Andrew Nimmo- who played Paul.

Well done to all involved!

A show with a powerful message and a great script. The cast had a good energy and performed well together. There were a few slow moments, but overall this was a good show and I would definitely recommend it!

Once you work out who each of the characters were, which was slightly confusing at first, the talented young cast gave excellent performances illustrating the differing viewpoints and struggles associated with the loss of a loved one to suicide. Comic/superhero fans will enjoy some smart references

This was an absorbing and powerful play whose young cast brought the key issues it covers fully to life
The time passed so quickly- it is a play steeped in personal and sometimes difficult relationships and it is greatly to the credit of all involved that it found poignancy and not despair in dealing with these issues
I would thoroughly recommend it as part of the Fringe experience
