Description

A thrilling new play by Eve Leigh and directed by Debbie Hannan, Salty Irina is about two girls falling in love and fighting nazis. But when the nature of their relationship is uncovered, their safety is under threat. A coming-of-age story set against the rise of the far-right.

So poignant and heavy, and so slickly executed. You don't need high production to create a truly thought provoking piece. Much recommended!

A script that didn’t get to the real core of what it was trying to impart . Stereotypical characters - rather than pitching into the heart and soul of injustice and victimisation - pretty average acting and nonsensical physical theatre techniques thrown in without cause or reason. Disappointing - maybe with a better cast and director could work .

Enjoyable tale in an innovative venue (round auditorium with great views from all seats) at Summerhall. Acting was strong and convincing. The arc of the story took a little effort to follow as a lot of ground was covered with minimal help from the script to set up new scenes. Overall, a very good performance helped by a trio of excellent actors. Recommended.

This is one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. The story is touching and important. It’s so well written and so well acted. If you have a chance, please please go see this show!

The best show we have seen so far. Beautifully acted, well written story, cool space…. Go see it!

I loved this, I thought that the relationship between Anna and Eireni was explored really well. The acting was intense, and the Roundabout is a great location for that.
