Description
Painting Heaven on Earth. Guided tour of this visually outstanding interior with introductory talk on the use of painting for devotional purposes. Between 1893 and 1901, Phoebe Anna Traquair (1852-1936) painted spectacular murals for the Catholic Apostolic Church depicting biblical stories and Christian themes, all to provide a fitting setting for the rich style of Catholic Apostolic worship. After 50 years of neglect, the building and murals were expertly restored in 2001 and can now be seen once more in their full glory. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted.
