Description

Beyond Borders presents their debut play Runaway, a semi-biographical story wrapped in a generous coat of unapologetic humour, exploring themes of home, belonging and finding your identity as a foreigner in a big city. It's a play about endless searching for the place that feels right. That feels like home. It's about racing towards the future and running away from the past, until you cannot run anymore and all you are left with is the present. A train station. And a train to Brixton.

Zuzana is very engaging with the audience. I saw her play at Camden Fringe and wanted to see it again, so I watched the play again at Edinburgh Fringe! I laughed, cried, and laughed again. Brilliantly written play. Must see before it ends!

A very energetic, funny and ultimately moving show.

The performer Zuzana is painfully honest, open and sincere. She lays out her personal story - bare - without holding anything back.

Its interesting to hear her observations about the UK and to follow her journey in this country.

There is a powerfully raw quality to her performance at times. Urgent, serious and truthful. Go and see her, her show will stay with you.

So glad I came to this - Zuzana is a fantastic performer and story-teller with a great sense of humour. Very engaging, I was totally absorbed! And great taste in music too LOL

A really good rendition from Zuzana giving an account of the many experiences of a person who comes to London from another country. Her acting skills combined with her emotive and amusing narration captured the attention of the audience throughout. An excellent performance and well worth going to see - I give it the thumbs up!!

Funny, sad and oh-so true; Diana’s story observes moments of absolutely spot-on pain and joy for everyone. As a person who’s moved around a lot, I shared her “new girl/ boy” experiences. One of my favourite shows of the fringe, and the cliffhanger- ending; what will happen next?

Amazing show, made me laugh out loud, cry and contemplate over many topics Diana is touching on. Amazing story telling, humour and acting. Wholeheartedly recommended!

Zuzana Spacirovas portrayal of Diana, a young woman who is naively finding her way through a foreign land. Left myself and our whole family genuinely moved, as we found ourselves invested in this character from the very beginning!

Her performance is heart-warming, gut-wrenching and side-splitting.

One of those Edinburgh Fringe gems you're often lucky enough to come across on a couple of occasions through the month!

A thoroughly enjoyable show . This very talented young actress takes on the phrase "the grass is greener on the other side " in such a way as to enable every audience member to consider this question in the context of their own lives. She does this with humour , a sense of fun and extreme likeability. You can't help but like her . This performer deserves large audiences , be one of them .

This play made me laugh and cry!
Zuzana is a captivating performer and held the audience's attention for the entire show. Her portrayal of Diana, a foreigner in London touches on the sadness of loneliness and rejection but is full of relatable humour. Great storytelling, can't wait for the next chapter!
