Description

After their triumphant Tartuffe and their moving and powerful Laramie Project Bede's are returning to Edinburgh with that timeless classic, "The Resistable Rise of Arturo Ui" by Bertolt Brecht. Set in Chicago of the 1930's it's a satirical parody of the rise to power of Adolf Hitler. However, it is still equally relevant today with parallels to … well you choose - any angry, moronic ruthless leaders' rise to power. It's fun with a hard hitting message. Come and see it!

Excellent performance by a massively talented group of actors; staged with real imagination and flair. Highly recommended!

Brecht’s darkly comic play about the ascent of the moronic, childish but charismatic gangster Arturo Ui should be relevant for obvious reasons. Bede’s production of The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui is slick, humorous and very watchable, even if I did find myself longing for some of the scenes to...
