Description
LGBTQIA+ adults read aloud from their real teenage diaries, poetry, fanfic and more! After gaining a cult following in London and online, Queer Diary tours the UK for the first time. Hosted by Beth Watson, with a different line-up each time, queer crowds keep coming back for more angsty teenage diary entries, long-lost love letters, fabulous fan-fiction, terrible Tumblr posts and possibly the odd bit of cringey poetry! Audiences say: 'It's like that Mortified podcast, but all queer!', 'a joy to be part of' and 'I've been three times! It's always so affirming'.Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. I was lucky enough to see this show last week in the Magical SpiegelYurt and it was brilliant!!
Our wonderful goth-lipped host, Beth Watson, created the perfect safe queer space and this is an utterly genius premise! You cannot beat queer teen diaries, poems and, frankly, shopping lists for drama, humour and cringe factor. I laughed so hard, but also felt seen. Here are my people!! And actually the atmosphere afterwards was beautiful, with everyone launching into conversation and just being blooming lovely.
As an added bonus, the readers were all people with their own Fringe shows and as a result of Queer Diaries I went to see two of the shows in question and LOVED them.
Queer and here? Then go and see this show!
