Description

In the past few years everybody from celebrities to royalty and the public has been discussing mental health. Professor Patricia Casey (University College Dublin and Hermitage Medical Clinic), reveals the good, the not-so-good and even the funny, in her chosen profession as a psychiatrist. Far from being stigmatised, mental illness is now publicly discussed and claimed by many rich and famous personalities. But is this really mental illness or is the world becoming more self-absorbed and even hypochondriacal? Have mental health problems become fashionable and could this be behind the increased prescriptions and therapy culture?
