Phyllis M. Bone: Scotland’s First Lady of Sculpture

Description

Phyllis M. Bone (1894-1972) was working in a time when sculpture was considered unsuitable for women. Bone went on to become one of Scotland’s leading sculptors and the first female elected member of the Royal Scottish Academy. This exhibition will look at her prolific career and will be the largest Phyllis M. Bone exhibition ever mounted, with over 40 works on show. Only showing for the 2018 Fringe, curated by Dr. Elizabeth Cumming.
