Description

A joyously unhinged hour of stand-up and magic. Join lanky urban wizard Pete Heat as he uses comedy and mind-blowing tricks to explore that most divisive of subjects: magic itself. Is it an incredible, visceral experience that loosens your grasp on reality, or a dated, cliché-riddled embarrassment? Is it both? Are all magicians terrible people? Was that your card? Has Pete wasted his life? Hate magic? You'll love this show. Love magic? You'll really love this show. 'Like Noel Fielding performing sleight of hand' **** (Fest). 'Very, very funny' ***** (FringeGuru.com). 'Incredibly impressive' **** (ThreeWeeks).

Saw the preview of Pete's show - brilliant! Very funny and very magical. Surreal humour with some great lines. And some charming magic. Well worth catching if you can!

Fantastic combination of mind-boggling up close magic mixed in with very funny abstract comedy, he's fab

Not seen the show but have heard it's great from almost everyone!

My favourite show at the Fringe. Both very funny and mystifying. Magic was amazing. Highly recommended.

Watched Pete on Next Up. Really great hour of funny magic and surreal madness. Highly recommended.

Brilliant! My third time seeing Pete Heat and every time there are unexpected twists and a great comedic touch. Loved it -- also really like how he doesn't conform to the stuffy, waistcoat-wearing vibe of your traditional magician. Def worth a watch!

Pete Heat is not only a bafflingly brilliant magician with tricks that will really make you say ‘Bilmey!’, but he has also crafted a show that is funny, moving and incredibly well executed. His comedy is intricately and creatively written, but most of all- hilarious. I cannot think of anyone who would not leave this show inspired.

It's hard to say if this is a comedy show with magic or a magic show with comedy because Pete Heat is exceptional at both.

One of the most original shows I have ever seen at the festival this year. LOVED it, as did my wife and her friend.

This man is absolutely brilliant. One of the most joyful hours I’ve ever had at the fringe- think he might actually be magic.

Blimey. What a great show. I think we’ll be going again tomorrow to try to figure out how on earth pete does his tricks. Wonderfully funny and frustratingly brilliant magic that will keep you up all night - here I am at 12:30 am still thinking about it. 10/10

Absolutely loved Pete Heats show! The magic is unusual and amazing. I’ve seen lots of magic shows this year and he is the greatest magician of them all. The humour is surreal, the magic is outstanding. Brilliant

5* The funniest magic show at the Fringe. Slick sleight of hand, original comedy and brand new magic. Better than all other magic shows. Came to the show based on 5 star review from Wee Review.

How is this not sold out EVERY NIGHT?

I had 1.5 hours between shows so I decided to search the Fringe site and found this show and decided to check it out, why not? It honestly started a bit slow, but once he got into it, WOW. WOW. WOW.

I've seen Kevin Quantum, James Phelan, and a few other magicians since being here and this guy's magic was 1000x better and his comedy was 10000x better. RIGHT up my alley. Loved it.

A brilliant show and laughed from beginning to end.

This was simply the best show I saw at the festival- and I saw quite a few! Pete manages to mix comedy , magic and emotion to create a show that had the audience eating out of his hands in 30secs. This will be the quickest 60 mins you have ever spent. If you don’t see anything else at the festival see Pete ( followed by Jon Culshaw as Les Dawson)

Absolutely superb show. Laughed from start to finish. Really likeable act who I found myself rooting for the whole show. I imagine balancing magic and comedy isn’t an easy thing to do but he absolutely smashed it. Some of the tricks were truly mind blowing!!

Wandered in off the street not having any idea what Pete was about. What a magical imagination. Absolutely loved the whole thing, could have sat there for another hour. A very real, funny, clever guy.

The Wee Room seems like the perfect room for Pete’s casual, intimate approach to magic presentation. Using only small props like dice, cards, and soda cans, he still explores a wide range of magic tricks including mind reading, object creation, and object transformation. All in all, it was a lot of fun.

It is early in the Fringe, and I have only seen 36 shows of the around 160 I will see. So far, this was the 17th most enjoyable I have seen at the Fringe this year. You may see my other three-sentence reviews, in order from most enjoyable to worst, at my non-commercial website: https://fringefan.com/

This guy is top class. Very funny and mind-blowing magic. A very intimate setting, which makes the magic even more incredible. Great audience participation too. He should be selling out stadiums so make the most of seeing him up close while you can! Great show.

Absolutely mind boggled by these tricks!! So clever, you won’t see it coming, couldn’t recommend more!

Excellent show. I won't spoil anyone, but let's just say that I'm very confident the value of my investment in "the concept of cucumber" is on the rise!

Seeing a show of this quality in such an intimate venue brings with it that illusive quality of the best Fringe shows: it feels like something secret and very special indeed.
