Description

5 monologues. 5 average people. 5 not-so average days. A Perfectly Average Glimpse Into A Perfectly Average Day explores human nature through the medium of monologues, touching on themes from motherhood, to neighbourly obsession. It is an explosion of dark comedy that challenges our notion of other people as we have a voyeuristic glimpse into their lives.

Perfectly Average Glimpse into a Perfectly Average Day (****)

This show is composed of five independent solo plays: a best man savages his abusive father; a swimming instructor bemoans not receiving credit for her student’s Olympic gold medal; an actor worries about his audition, and is jealous of his former girlfriends success; a neighbor peeping tom has an odd relationship with his neighbors; and a young woman escapes her strict Baptist parents for a wild night out. The acting is top notch, and the stories well written. This seems to be a dramatic version of comedic "Bite-Size Breakfast" shows.

This is the 28th most enjoyable of the 223 Fringe shows I saw this year. You may see my other three-sentence reviews, in order from most enjoyable to worst, at my non-commercial website: https://fringefan.com/

This show was absolutely captivating, so cleverly written and absolutely playing to the actors strengths. Every single one was different and compelling but so real and unexpected. It was witty, emotional, engaging and I would absolutely recommend giving it a watch if you have time!

Each moment in this show feels like a look into a real, true life, and each personality is treated with equal attention to detail and compassion on fronts both acting and writing alike. A Perfectly Average Glimpse is at once funny and grounding — it is a show to watch.

Fabulous show. Five ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Each monologue was charged with equal mixes of emotion , humour, despair and top quality acting. Best show of the Fringe for me. Great writing - watch out Netflix! .

Picked up a flyer on High St earlier today. Really enjoyed these 5 monologues. All very different. Well written and great acting. Good to see an original student production which wasn’t trying to be wacky.

the skilful writing and inspired acting merge together to form fully fledged portraits of five individuals all going through their very own and quite unique life crises. as a person who has a bad habit of being stone faced in the theatre, even i couldn’t help the constant giggling the play brought out of me. the moments of intensity hit hard and well and acted as a nice balance to the general humour of the piece.

I was enthralled the entire time. Who would have thought monologues could be so captivating. The writing is natural, humorous and darkly complex. I would recommend this show to every one at the fringe. Hands down best thing I’ve seen so far. The performances were breathtaking - all of them.

This show was one of the most brilliant shows I have seen at the fringe so far! I stopped by after getting a flier earlier in day and wasn’t really sure what to expect. It ended up being so emotional and entertaining. I have a short attention span and I was entranced for the whole hour! While all of the monologues were very different they were all filled with deep feeling and biting wit. If you have time please see this show!
