Description
Winner – Critic’s Choice Award, Perth Fringe 2023. Last year, 6 foot 7 identical twins, Patrick and Hugo McPherson, brought their debut sketch comedy show, Pear, to Edinburgh. An award-winning, sell-out tour across the UK and Australia then followed with the boys heralded as 'like Reeves and Mortimer at their best' (TheRecs.co.uk) and 'hilarious from start to finish' ***** (MervsPOTFringe.com). This year? The same. But braver. So leave cowardice at the door and then enter for a riotous and original hour that’s 'relentlessly packed with jokes' ***** (ThreeWeeks). Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. When you come as a punter to see sketch comedy, it can be quite samey. With the McPherson twins they take sketch comedy and they find a way to elevate it to a new level. The core of their show is making each other laugh and it means they have an improv style that is unmatchable. Huge fans of “Aussie” comedians doing their things. Up the bombers!!!

They don't need reviews to get their audiences these days I am sure - but I write this anyway to record a brilliant hour in the twins' company once again. It's sharp and slick (as was Pear last year) and the sound and lighting are almost characters themselves (such great production). Was it braver? Possibly, especially as I have a feeling they've amped up the weird sexual dynamic this year (and I was there on the night their parents were in!). They are having great fun - and so were we. Next year? - but damper?

What an hilarious hour spent with two very charismatic twins! Although it all seems pretty casual, there’s no doubt they are on top of their game and know how to get the laughs. With many sketch shows there’s highs and lows but this was consistently funny from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Sketch comedy done properly. Absolutely hilarious from start to finish.

First saw the twins in Camel in 2018? Saw last year's show; belly laughed start to finish.
I declare an interest as my son directs but honestly? If I knew no one I would have laughed as much for this latest version.
Please, if you want to see an hour's excellent entertainment and see two coming stars go see.

Absolutely hilarious improv / sketch comedy that had the audience laughing throughout. Number one highlight for me this Fringe. Strongly recommend.

Saw Patrick in a sketch show called Camels on 2018 and have always kept and eye out for his shows since. Pear was great last year , but this braver version was even better, I'd say it's the best thing we've seen this year so far. Looking forward to Pair 3 Tokyo Drift next year

We saw five shows yesterday, and this was the best! Silly, fun and v v funny. Weird sexual tension for two brothers but each to their own… definitely go see this!

What a show, too busy to make this into a chortle article (lol) but had a great time. Give it a few years and these boys could be the new THREE WOOZIES!!

We saw Pear last year and loved them so were pleased to see they are back. They are hilarious and put on such a fun event. Because they are so lovable, I won’t comment on the material they repeated from last year. Hope to see them (and their new material next year.

Having seen Pear last year, and really enjoying it, I was interested to see what more the boys could bring…
Safe to say, it was just as funny, perhaps funnier, just as smart, smarter even and just as joyous, nay, joyouser. But braver…? Abso-freaking-lutely!
Patrick and Hugo are just wonderfully funny, and the sketches are ridiculous and hilarious (poor Claus!). This is proper example of sketch comedy done at its best!
