Absolutely brilliant ‘MUST SEE’ 5***** show! Flawless a cappella jazz vocals with stylish choreography and stunning arrangements. I particularly loved ‘She’s leaving home’, ‘Gold’ and ‘Chilli Con Carne’. Wonderful way to start the day!

I love a capella and for many years ensured that at least one a capella group formed part of my Fringe plan. However, after one too many beat-boxing heavy show full of music that I didn’t know I was going to give it a miss this year.

I’m so pleased that The Oxford Gargoyles Fringe ad promoted their classic content and that I gave them a go.

The apparently strange sartorial choice of socked-feet meant that there was no clumping about the stage to detract from their fabulous singing. Great musical choices - I particularly loved Gold and Chilli Con Carne.

Thanks Gargoyles.

Running between shows in Bristo Square, a debonair young lad in suit and tie handed me a flyer saying "this is my last one". Acapella singing, although I love it, wasn't on my Fringe agenda but I decided this was fate and bought a ticket. What a good choice! I loved their précision, original arrangements, synergy and joy. You will walk out with your feet not touching the ground and a song in your heart. And...a recipe! Go see them, a wonderful way to start the day.

This group are at fringe every year but once a year is not enough they are extremely talented, entertaining, charismatic and charming the audience have just as much fun as the group seem to have on stage. Their energy and love for the music they are performing is infectious definately worth the ticket price!

Saw their first show on Monday but you wouldn’t know! Smooth blend of the voices, nicely paced & balanced program for a lunchtime show. Imaginative use of the Intimate venue with good choreo. Familiar tunes such as Animal Spirits were slick, Chilli con Carne cheeky & comedic, and a couple of super new arrangements. Definitely recommend!

Impeccable.
Professional vocals offered to the audience by an ensemble of lovable individual talents. The set moves seamlessly between silly and soulful.
But this isn’t the ba ba doo naps you might associate with jazz a capella. These arrangements provide a fresh and imaginative take on timeless jazz (and sometimes other) classics.

A quintessential contribution to the fringe.
