Description

Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Olga Koch is back! Ahead of her BBC Radio 4 special, the acclaimed stand-up tells a love story through the medium of computer programming (which she studied at university, and, like, barely ever brings up). In her feminist investigation into what happens when we can't separate love and technology, Olga will teach you how to code and explore what happens when our expectations for love, happiness and Michael Bublé no longer compute. Directed by Charlie Dinkin. ***** (BroadwayBaby.com). **** (Telegraph). **** (Skinny). **** (List). **** (TheArtsDesk.com).

When I read Olga was born in Russia I was expecting a parody show of some sort. Olga was in fact a really funny genuinely engaging comedian. She was more USA than USSR and came across brilliantly. Loved it.

Fantastic premise and hilarious jokes. I’m glad I got the chance to see this.

A great show. Standup is not particularly my thing at the fringe (too many bad experiences), but Olga is a natural and I really enjoyed her performance. I will look for her name in future.

Seen Friday 9th August. Olga was an enjoyable and upbeat act. The story was mostly engaging and had a took a nice introspective turn whilst remaining understandable for someone who has had different life experiences. The majority of jokes landed, however a few times I missed the punchline as the delivery sped up (I was sat at the back so could be partially down to me just not hearing it). An enjoyable show and certainly worth the visit. 7.5/10.

Excellent show, Olga is a star, a fantastically funny natural storyteller.
Also one of my favourite venues (just don't sit directly under the aircon!)

The funniest thing I saw at the Fringe this year until I saw someone spit a chewed jellybean into an audience member's mouth (so close). Olga Koch has a ton of brilliant jokes and her delivery is superb. Performance was outstanding. I am still chuckling thinking about this set days later. Highly recommended.

In her second Fringe show If/Then, Olga Koch covers a lot of ground – studying in the male-dominated field of computer science, growing up in Russia and moving to the US, falling in love and the weirdness of Skyping a relative into a funeral. Koch bounds onto stage, full of...

It’s hard to believe, I know, but it’s tough being a woman; there are so many expectations about how you should behave, yet these are an endless list of contradictions. Olga Koch subverts some of the more stereotypical gender norms – she’s got a computer science degree and loves beer...

Fest (4/5 stars) 48 days ago

There's a tricky nugget sizzling at the meaty centre of Olga Koch's second Fringe show. As an avowedly non-girlish, unashamedly whip-smart computer programmer-come-comedian, Koch has been praised by the men in her life for being different to all the other girls. And in being proud of achievements which run against...
