This was a fantastic tour and we would not hesitate to recommend it. Luca was everything you would want in a guide and is knowledgeable, funny and hugely entertaining. In addition to learning lots of new information we were also treated to tales of old Edinburgh and fokelore and received some great ideas for other activities during our visit. The two hours flew by and we were left wanting more. Miss this and you miss out!

I really enjoyed this tour. The guide was excellent; enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entertaining. It's packed with information and I found it all incredibly interesting, providing detailed insights into all of the topics covered. On the back of this I also attended the whiskey tasting by the same guide which was also excellent.

Great tour, lots of information and a (relatively) short space of time. You cover quite a distance but the guide is engaging and enthusiastic about his subject.

Wonderfully exceeded my expectations. John, our guide, is a brilliant storyteller who clearly has an extensive grasp of historical context, laced with well-judged witticisms and self-deprecating humour. Plenty of detail and interest for adults, probably slightly too wordy for most children, but we kept moving, so no complaints. Feel I now understand where Edinburgh came from and want to hear more. Very highly recommended.

An outstanding tour. The guide brought history to life and added more dimensions to the appreciation of Edinburgh. The man should be on television as he's a far better history presenter than most of them. While making us laugh, he even made the Reformation sound fascinating and relevant. An excellent tour which even people with no interest in history, politics, literature or philosopy would find fascinating. Highly recommended.
