Description
Five exquisite female voices sing an intriguing cocktail of sacred and profane, medieval, classical, folk and contemporary music from Hildegard of Bingen to Joni Mitchell, Byzantine hymns to Norwegian lullabies. Tender, witty and urbane, Papagena's eclectic programme juxtaposes mouth music and folk from around the world, contemporary ballads and plainchant. 'Young female Hilliard Ensemble... this group really does have that combination of vocal focus, interest in discovering new music and sense of fun which you should search out – whatever your musical tastes' (ThePrickle.co.uk). 'La crème de la crème in the crowded a cappella space' (FringeReview.co.uk).Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted.
