Noise Boys (****)
Four tap dancers, a pianist/singer, a guitarist, two beatboxers, and a rapper mix and match their talents to create an engaging review. The tap dancers are the core talent, and they don’t disappoint as they display their individual skills and then perform complex choreography in unison. Given their expertise, I was surprised that they didn’t have a soft shoe routine to break-up the loud numbers.

This was the 27th most enjoyable of the 113 Fringe shows I have seen so far this year. You may see my other three-sentence reviews, in order from most enjoyable to worst, at my non-commercial website:

A fantastic show - every performer is polished and really talented. From tap to rap, from beat boxing to singing, it's all brilliant! Go and see it!

Very good show - tremendous energy and very polished - in particular, the 4 tap dancers are phenomenal! Highly recommended

Beatbox has come of age!! Good beatbox strains credulity; you just can’t believe that the sounds you’re hearing are being made by humans. A-stounding.
Add to that, TAP IS BACK! Four guys tap the sh*t out of everything.
The keyboard/singer and bass/guitarist ground
the lot.
The rapping girl adds (really adds); true self revealing poetry the way Shakespeare would do if he were alive now.
Stand and shout out loud!!!!

Absolutely amazing show. Music, beatbox, tap, rap - thoroughly entertaining and inspiring. Highly, highly recommended for the whole family. Book though - the house was packed tonight!

A high energy show with high production values. All the performers were not only talented but also enthusiastic. A great mix of genres with tap, beat box, rap and straight music on show. Could this be the future of the boy band?

After three years of regular Fringe attendance, this show is my undisputed favorite. The idea of tap dancing and beat boxing didn't really sound like it would be an interesting show, but these are the very best performers in their respective disciplines, and the arts on display mesh together beautifully in this performance. I was sad it was only an hour -- would watch this group all day.

The best show I’ve ever seen at the edfringe! Had a well deserved standing ovation - this group had so much to offer, from such high quality tap dancing to some outstanding beatboxing, this show blew me away and left me feeling amazed and completely inspired! Definitely go see this show, it’s spectacular!

What an amazing show with something for everyone.! Such talented performers-from tap dancing , which was fantastic, to beat boxers, rappers vocalists and guitarists.I wasn't sure what to expect from the description of the show, but it was just so good...don't go expecting traditional tap dancing as in a show like 42nd Street.....this is energetic , physical tap dancing along the lines of Tap Dogs...a show from years ago which was very successful.(check it out on you tube)...this combined with spectacular beat boxing, absolutely brilliant musicianship on the instruments and killer all adds up to one amazing show, good luck for the rest of the Fringe!

Wow! Each member of the troupe were raw talent and they came together in such a warm, clever and thoroughly entertaining way that it's going to be tough finding any show to match this one in Edinburgh! Their video is impressive but the show itself surpassed all expectation. Their blending together of beat box and tap was simply spectacular.

Loved it! I’m a big fan of tap and these boys are phenomenal. The dance off between them and the beat boxers is a highlight. Totally uplifting

A huge highlight of the Fringe. I suspect that everyone who went and had their adrenalin pumped up by this joyous, exhilarating show would say the same. Athletic, slick, soulful and totally involving, it seemed to me to be a perfect celebration of both masculine and feminine musical sensibilities. Fantastic!

WOW! So much in one show - the hour flew by. The creators of this show definitely know how to make an audience feel good and the talent of everyone on stage delivers it style with high energy levels and sense of fun that is infectious.
Bring it back next year please!

What a spectacle! What a tight performance! It’s wonderful to come out of a show feeling bowled over, with any expectations pitched way out of the park. A lovely cast of talented guys. Loved how your individuality was celebrated in both talent and style. I didn’t know it was possible to do such things with the human voice. And the tapping!! The earth shook for me.

Wow! Energy, enthusiasm, a slick seamless performance from the Noise Boys, a group of talented performers each skilled in their own art, tap dancers, two amazing beat box artistes, singer, guitar player and rapper. I thoroughly enjoyed the hour long show which was non-stop! Well worth going to see. I would be particularly interested to see the full lyrics of the rapper's song about Dreams. Well done all!!

With a cast of eight boys and one cool androgynous-looking girl, Noise Boys reminds me of The Magnets meets Choir of Man meets Tap Dogs. It’s no surprise to find out that it’s directed and produced by Nic Doodson and from the creative minds behind The Choir of Man, Gobsmacked!,...

Much of the audience will have been familiar with tap, but will seldom have seen it performed with such style and skill as here, by four dancers who have been allowed to retain their own individual styles. With occasional rap and song interludes, this was a show put together with great care and which built to an exhilarating finish. This will not be the last we see of Noise Boys; this could be the next Stomp…

Noise Boys opens on a group of friends taking a break from their jobs in a packing warehouse, chatting amongst themselves, bored of a lifestyle that allows little room for creative expression.
