Description

Three alternating concert programmes over multiple days featuring music by Scottish composers and settings of Scottish poetry. Performed by Turning the Elements (Frances Cooper (soprano) and Joanna Nicholson (clarinet)); Tom Poulson, Danielle Price and Timothy Cooper (trumpet, tuba, electronics) and Duo van Vliet (Ian Anderson (viola) and Rafal Luc (accordion)). Composers featured include: Linda Buckley, Alistair MacDonald, Stuart Murray-Mitchell, Rebecca Rowe, Diana Salazar, Oliver Searle and Matthew Whiteside. Settings of poetry by Helene Grøn, Jane McKie, Stewart Sanderson and Nan Shepherd. Each concert is three 30-minute thirds with two intervals.   • Accessible entry: There is step free access at the John Knox House or the main entrance to Scottish Story Telling Centre door has 9 steps leading up to to it from street level. Once inside, it is level access to the Storytelling Court. Staff are happy to assist with entry to the court if required.

    Number of stairs is provided as guidance and is not in addition to any wheelchair access type (lift/ramp etc) stated above.

How and when to make an access booking

Our access tickets service is available to anyone who:

  • Would like to book specific accessibility services, e.g. a hearing loop, audio description headsets, captioning units, seating in relation to the location of the BSL interpreter
  • Requires extra assistance when at a venue
  • Has specific seating requirements
  • Is a wheelchair user
  • Requires a complimentary personal assistant ticket to attend a performance
