Description

Denied ownership of her land through endless bureaucratic delays. Arrested in place of another so police could collect the bounty. Dogged by scurrilous reporters intent on titillating readers with salacious lies and gossip. With a fierce determination to provide her children a better life, Ellen Kelly battled discrimination and did as many parents do today: working brutal hours for exhaustingly little. Encouraged by government to work, develop and improve the land for the prosperity of Australia, migrant communities suffered in poverty. Ellen lived in the shadow of her infamous outlaw son, but now her story is told.

General venue access

  • Accessible entry: Access to box office, bar, and performance space up one flight of stairs to first floor (no lift). For this performance space: Space is up full flight of stairs and one quarter-flight of stairs up from courtyard, 25 steps in total, the main full flight approx 1m wide, and the final quarter flight approx 0.8m wide.

    • Wheelchair access type: Not fully wheelchair accessible

  • Stairs: 20+

Our access tickets service is available to anyone who:
