Description

Award-winning Lucky Dog bring their acclaimed Mr Merrick, the Elephant Man to Edinburgh for the first time. The most famous 'freak' who ever lived was more than just a victim. He was a complex and intelligent character who felt love, insecurity and anger. Based only on historical accounts, avoiding popular myths, and using a soundtrack of entirely Victorian recordings, this deeply moving two-man play is the most accurate ever written about Joseph Merrick's final years in the London hospital and his complicated relationship with the surgeon, Frederick Treves. Lucky Dog sold out at Edinburgh 2017.
