The legendary song and dance man returns to Edinburgh and channels the inner ghost of Sam Cooke to deliver a knock out 5 star performance. Its not just his incredible soulful vocals and dancing but he brings an infectious joy and enthusiasm. You can't help leaving his concert without smiling and somehow feeling good about yourself and the world. Can't wait to see him again next year!

I was privileged to attend this show on its last night (27 August). It wasn't a show I would have gone to normally, but a friend had a spare ticket so invited me along. What an absolute delight and joy to be there! Melvin is a true entertainer with singing, dancing, and storytelling woven into the performance. He had the audience singing, clapping, and dancing along with him.
The most striking aspect of Melvin's show is his humanity in demonstrating how music truly has the power to unite all peoples, and how we act towards others is the true measure of a person.
I look forward to Melvin's return to Edinburgh!

A lovely show by a lovely man. With Sam Cooke's music his voice takes you on a super tour through the history of the great man interspersed by some entertaining tap dancing.

Unbelievably I think Melvin Brown is 77 and so is older than the Fringe.
Gifted with a great voice if you like Soul music you will love this. Your soul will be lifted and your spirits raised. The man can sing and radiates warmth and love.
As we said in the show, 'Amen brother, say it'. Dancing and singing on stage and off. I loved it.

It was an honor to be in the room.
The Sam Cooke story comes across with the ideal degree of detail, but Melvin gives so much more. There's a lot of Cooke's music plus other relevant songs. And the tap dancing! It's that of a man who could do the flashy tricks but he's got the wisdom and grace to make the taps do the talking. (Plus, he's also got a lot of singing and talking to do, making the right choices for his audience's benefit.)
The music is what has the whole audience enthralled, often enhanced by good back-up singers.
I'm lucky enough to be temporary staff for a show, so I got to see this on a pass. There shouldn't have been any seats available at all for the likes of me. Early in the show, I thought, "this is the first thing I've seen that I definitely want to see again, as soon as possible, and I would pay to do so."

What a gorgeous show and Melvin what a beautiful personality on top of being a great artist ! For a fan of the 60's music it's a pure moment of grace. And same I guess for anybody else with a normal heart ! The show in itself would be a reason to travel to Edinburgh !

This was the first of Melvin Browns shows, so there were a couple of small glitches, which are to be expected.
What a performer, he had us all on our feet and some of us on stage dancing, a brilliant show and a story (Sam Cooke) well told, this was the second time I have seen Melvin and hopefully wont be the last.
Brilliant, do not miss it.
