Description
Happiness awaits Martha and her Mother. They just have to kill to get it. This adaptation of Camus’ absurd play sees the prodigal son return to a troubled home and a sister who longs to escape the banality of her world. 'A crime is a crime, the only thing that matters is to know what you want.' Martha longs to be by the sea, Maria wants love, Mother wants nothing more than to rest and Jan wants to be welcomed into his family's arms. But in life, no one gets what they want. Even murder can become tedious. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Some incredible acting involved, and I was drawn in from the opening sequence immediately.

A brave choice of material for an early-morning slot. This play about failed communication was reported to have been considered a failure by the author himself because people kept asking him what it meant. The cast try hard with difficult subjects and if you want to have a wide range of experiences at Edinburgh this might be worth adding to your list.
