Description

In the dramatic musical A Mirrored Monet, it’s 1916 and the painter Claude Monet struggles to complete his government commission for the Water Lilies. Esteemed his greatest work, to him it meant regular deliveries of food, fuel, wine, and cigarettes – hard to find during the war. He is suffering a creative block as WWI advances and worrying that unless he can paint as before, the lifeline of deliveries will cease. He searches for answers, taking us back to his young-artist days in late 19th century Paris with Renoir, Manet and Camille, his first wife and model.

A very professional and extremely well sung production by a top quality cast. Special mention for the projections which would not have looked out of place in the West End.
A very enjoyable Sunday in the Park with Claude!

Beautiful music, great story and a sublime cast of superb singers and actors, especially Kim Shephard as Camile, Crawford Logan as old Monet and Mathew Hydzik as young Monet. Grab tickets while you can! *****

If you enjoy light opera telling a real story about real people from a real time, “A Mirrored Monet” is the one for you! This is an original piece, beautifully written, staged and delivered by professional opera performers and was a sheer joy to behold from start to finish.

A unique and interesting subject that envisions conversations which may have occurred amongst the Impressionists and sets them to melodious music.
