I just found this all a bit cringe. Merv didn’t seem to know anything about the acts he had booked on, reading from his notes when talking about to or the acts.

On the day we went, there was only one out of the seven acts who were half decent (the dots - we’re going to look out for them next year).

Without wishing to sound ageist, the audience were of a certain age and seemed to appreciate the jokes of an era past that Merv peddles.

There’s a lot of different reasons for choosing whichever shows you want to see in the Fringe, but I can’t think of a reason why you WOULDN’T go to Mervyn Stutter. Even if you don’t end up going to see any of the shows, you’ll still get 90 minutes of matchlessly eclectic entertainment. Several times, we’ve wanted to see EVERY show Merv teased (our record ever was seeing 5 out of the 7). It’s basically a Fringe playlist. Go. And if you’re up for 2 weeks, go twice.
