Description

As punishment for his self-aggrandising craftiness and deceitfulness, Sisyphus was forced to roll an immense boulder up a hill only for it to roll down whenever it neared the top, consigning him to an eternity of useless efforts and unending frustration. Join award-winning comedian Matt Stellingwerf as he rolls his own boulder... searching for meaning in a life, seemingly, wasted. From his worthless PhD to his obsession with Wikipedia. From the pointless lies he tells to the hubris of thinking he's worth listening to in the first place. Is there joy to be found in uselessness? Maybe...

Our access tickets service is available to anyone who:

  • Would like to book specific accessibility services, e.g. a hearing loop, audio description headsets, captioning units, seating in relation to the location of the BSL interpreter
  • Requires extra assistance when at a venue
  • Has specific seating requirements
  • Is a wheelchair user
  • Requires a complimentary personal assistant ticket to attend a performance

I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Matt covered a wide range of subject material. He is obviously well read and weaves a lot of interesting facts into very funny monologue. He engages members of the audience in a way that is not designed to embarrass or belittle. Best value for money show at the fringe. After seeing other more celebrated comedians here, I would happily pay full fare.
